Hard Rock Theme Park update



The Hard Rock Theme Park construction is well under way. We will soon be visiting the site to take pictures and update you further regarding the development of the park. There is a camera that is set up which allows you to view the land under construction 24hrs a day. View the camera.

Pollen levels in Myrtle Beach



The pollen season is here. As evidence by all the pollen settling on cars everywhere and flying through the air into car windows as you drive down the road. Myrtle Beach is in the HIGH count (9.7-12), according to the national pollen map on pollen.com.

If you are visiting the area from the Midwest, Central West, or New England states you will need to bring your allergy and asthma medications and maybe bring extras in case.

Don't let the pollen levels stop you from coming to Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Today  the weather is clear skies with a temperature of 73 degrees, it really couldn't be more beautiful outside. The remainder of the week into the beginning of next it is supposed to remain in the 70's to upper 70's.

Myrtle Beach Restaurants - closings and openings



The San Francisco Oven which is located by Cheeseburger in Paradise is now closed. The new restaurant to open there will be Andy's Brick House which is a new oven-style eatery.

 The Croissants Bakery and Cafe has moved to a larger space in the new Beach First Center off 38th Ave. and Grissom Parkway in Myrtle Beach. The address is 3751 Grissom Parkway Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 you can reach them at 843.448.2253

Myrtle Beach Pavilion finds home for rides



It was announced today that Burroughs and Chapin Co. Inc will save a few of the rides and heirlooms that were favorites of the park. There will 9 rides from the park and other attractions from the park will move to Broadway at the Beach near the Carmike Cinemas. The area where the park will be will be called "Pavilion Nostalgia Park". It will serve as a park for people who want to ride some of the rides and also as a museum to remember what was the Pavilion. Below is a list of exactly what will found at the park.

Tea Cup ride, funnel cakes, motorcycle ride, dune buggy rides, pizza, long range basketball, kids pirate ship, boat ride, catepillar, memory lane and souvenir shop, Midway games ( milk can toss, bushel baskets, duck pond, spill the milk), 2,800 sq. ft.  arcade, and a commisary where you will find munchies like hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, more sweets and beverages.

 July 4th is the target date for the park to open but officials say that it could open sooner.

Direct Air in Myrtle Beach



There is yet another small charter airline here in Myrtle Beach, SC. The new airline is Direct Air which will service the Myrtle Beach International Airport from March until October this year. Direct Air will fly to Niagara Falls, N.Y., Newark and Pittsburgh, PA. It's first flight arrived in Myrtle Beach at 9:40pm this evening from Newark N.J.

Myrtle Beach Can Am days 2007



Well it is again that time for the Canadian American days in Myrtle Beach, SC.  This years events run from March 10th-18th.


There will be beach games, lots of community activities, sporting events and tons of musical productions.  This years events include the St. Patricks Day parade and festival in North Myrtle Beach, the South Strand Wildlife and History Day, there will also be riverboat tours, Little Olympics, and an International Kitefest, and some concerts. For those who shag or interested in learning to shag there will be a National Shag Dance Championship. The shag is the South Carolina State dance.
